Jumping on the Bandwagon

So, I have heard about these books for a while now. I remember talking to a friend about a year ago and she asked me if I had heard of the book Twilight. I shocked her by saying, "no." Then she said I had to read them. She told me they were about Vampires and that's when I made the mental note to not read them. I am not really a Sci-Fi kind of girl (especially anything about aliens).
Well, a few of my friends read them and loved them, so I thought I would give it them a try. I asked to borrow my BFF's copies and take them on vacation. She came to pick us up for the airport and surprised me with all 3 novels wrapped in a big red ribbon, a gift for me! She wanted me to be able to have them for myself and it is a good thing she did. There is melted chocolate on a couple pages and maybe even a couple of splashes of diet coke on others.
While we were on vacation, my wonderful mother-in-law gave me many opportunities to hide down in the basement and read while she watched the kids. It took me a while to get into the first book, but eventually I was sucked in and really enjoyed it. I was so glad I had the 2nd book with me because I had to know what was going to happen next.
I was almost finished with New Moon by the time we made it home from Washington, but I didn't have the luxury of built-in-babysitting, so it took a little time to finish. I finished that one up a few days after we returned home and started reading Eclipse this last week. I had a hard time through some parts of the 3rd book (the legend story in the middle), but again was sucked in after a hundred pages or so. Last night, I had to finish it. I wanted to be able to read without anyone asking for food or to have their bum wiped. So, not thinking, I stayed up until 4:30 am finishing the last book and ended up loving it as much as Twilight.

I stayed up until the sun was about to come up but I think that it was on the second book.

Any chance they'll get cliff notes for those?? Maybe then I'd consider. I think I usually fall off of bandwagons.

So glad you enjoyed them. She really is an incredible writer. I still haven't finished Eclipse but I'm working on it. I haven't done the stay up all night thing. You're brave!

I'm not a bandwagon type of gal either, but I did ride this one! My poor children had to fend for themselves for 4 days straight so I could finish. You're a better mother than I am!

I haven't read these yet. I am not sure I would get into them, you know with the vampire and all. I hate to not be in the club. Are they really that good?

Welcome to the wagon! Not so bad right? Now you are one of us...mommy twilight lovers! You have to get on her website and read the first chapter of Twilight from Edward's perspective! lol!

I am not on the bandwagon either. People can't believe I haven't read them. Maybe when the kids go back to school.

YAY!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad you jumped on the bandwagon! It's a great ride, isn't it?! They are my absolutely favorite books! I read the first two in 4 days and had to wait a week and a half (torture) for the third. Now, a bunch of girls in my ward are having a "Twilight" party on Friday and going to Walmart at midnight to pick up a copy of the 4th book. hee hee......we hicks are a little crazy like that! ;) Glad you enjoyed them, I never know what to say when someone doesn't appreciate them like I do! I have to add though.......the Edward in the movie is SOOOO not my Edward! He isn't NEAR cute enough! ;)

OK, so I read the 1st one up in Oregon as well, but didn't have the luxury of having the 2nd one in my possession - I kind of fell out of interest. BUT if YOU say they're all that and a can of coke, then maybe I'll pick up the 2nd one before school starts up again.

4:30!!! Wowza! I made fun of everyone who read these books, until I finally gave in and read them. I loved them. I can't wait for the last one in a few days to come out... but I'm too cheap to buy it myself. So I have to patiently wait for my friend to read her copy until I can borrow it!

I am so exited to read the 4th book. I am realy ticked off at myself though. I ordered the book through Wal-Mart (only 10 bucks!). They said that it will be at my house either Saturday or Monday. I wish I would have just pre-ordered it somewhere around here so I could pick it up Friday night at midnight. Being cheap didn't pay off in this case.
