Choose your battles.

One thing I have learned since I became a mom is to choose my battles. Thomas has been testing his independence lately. This morning he was insistent on wearing a long sleeve t-shirt and jeans. I told him that it was too hot outside, but he looked outside and saw that it was cloudy and said he "HAD to wear these clothes." As we were getting ready to leave, he came into the kitchen with some extra eyes and his preschool snake around his neck like a boa. I didn't say anything and just let him get in the car. Luckily the eyes were off by the time we got to the store, but the snake made it in with us.

That pic' is wiggy with all the eyes LOL - but you are so right. If they think they look good and have confidence in what they have on then so what?

There are some days [still] I have to bite my lip with our youngest's choice of wear for school. But I figure if it is clean, ironed and covers her appropriately why should I care that her shorts are plaid and her shirt has horizontel strips? I'm not the one wearing it. :)

You are a great Momma for allowing him his choice.

I never get tired of your reports on Thomas. He is a hoot! My kids crack me up sometimes, but I swear it has got to be EVERY DAY you seem to have something to crack up about him.

That is very appropriate McDonald's in WalMart attire! Sorry we missed it.

I'm so glad it isn't just me who let's their kid go out in public being "independent". I have had to swallow my pride way too many times. We were sad when Eden went into Primary not to find Thomas around. I would love to still get our pictures done, but I understand that it is now very short notice. I still don't know what we would wear anyways. That sort of thing stresses me out. We are here until the 17th, so I'll have to call you up and see what your schedule is even looking like for the week.
