Today was our little guys first day of preschool. He was so excited! He goes in the afternoon, which is a great thing because he is not a morning person. Today he slept in until 10:30! When he woke up he was so ready to go!
Doesn't he look so excited. He actually was excited about picking the flowers, just not having me take a picture of every move inside the neighborhood market. How embarrassing!
Finally it was 12:29 - the time I said he could get out of the car. He jumped out and made the long walk I have been dreading. How did my baby become old enough to go to preschool??? Didn't I have him last month???
Clara cried and cried. She did not want her brother to go. Surprisingly, I was very well composed. I didn't cry, I think I was too excited for him.
Clara was so happy to have him back. She wouldn't let go of him when he climbed in the car.

He got into the car and showed me his project (which I am having a problem scanning) and then I started crying. I knew it would come. I was just so happy for him and a tad bit sad for me. My baby is growing up.
On our drive home I asked him about his day and he just kept talking and talking about everything the did. He asked me if I had heard a certain song and tried singing it. He was trying to remember all the words, but was having a hard time. I asked him about their cooking project and he told me that had made rice crispy treats. He said they were SOOOOO GOOOD. I asked if Mrs. M had used a secret ingredient and he replied, "yes, marshmallows!"

What a sweet little tale of his first day!! My Thomas starts in about a week. I can't believe it either. Good Job Mom holding it together, for the most part!!
I remember when Thomas was born, I am just as surprised as you are that he is old enough. He was a great by! I loved the flowers and card! I told the kids the duck was to look at and make us happy! He is gentleman. We sang, R E D red, God bless America and skimarink a dink a do.
The first send offs are always so hard! Kindergarten is always the hardest for me- preschool is only a few hours, here it's all day kindergarten. I remember when we moved here i was all smiles dropping the kids off, but once they were out of the car I cried for an hour and it happened everyday for a few weeks- fun stuff to look forward to. Love the pic of him and Clara hugging!!
The flowers and the card, you are teaching that boy well. ;) I love the pictures of the kids reuniting. So sweet.
what a perfect first day. and perfect flowers :)
