Dear On The Border Waitress,
This is to inform you that walNUTS are nuts. I know you claimed to not know that there were nuts in our dessert, but you can't just "guess." Next time, walk your little self back to the kitchen and ASK! I know ordering dessert would in turn give you a bigger tip, but COME ON!
Thank heavens he didn't take a bite.

I had a friend in college that was allergic to eggs. We were at Olive Garden and while she was ordering she asked several times if this one or that one (noodle/sauce) had egg in it. She finally found one that did not have eggs and ordered it. After all the questions, you'd think they would have mentioned there were eggs in the dressing for the salad. I have never seen anyone vomit like that in my life.
Geez! Nut allergies are common enough and SERIOUS enough that how can any server not know that stuff like the back of their hand.
Next time I would just have Thomas look up at her with his big ole brown eyes and say "can you find out so I don't die please?" That'll do it.
